TruHealing Gaithersburg’s mental health treatment program aims to empower individuals struggling with mental health disorders. We help people build healthy coping mechanisms and strong support systems in order to have long-term peace of mind and recovery. Our psychiatrist and nurse practitioner will identify necessary medication maintenance, while our clinical therapists will help you work through underlying conditions that exacerbate unwanted mental health disorder symptoms.

Levels of Care We Offer
Partial Hospitalization Program
This program offers treatment on an intensive part-time basis, including up to 30 hours per week of group and individual therapy. Clients typically participate in a PHP for 30 days before moving to a lower level of care.
Clients graduating from PHP or requiring a lower level of care participate in a structured, encouraging intensive outpatient program with less time commitment than partial hospitalization. Clients are supported through their transitions and attend three-hour sessions three times weekly for 30 to 60 days.
This level of care gives you strategies and tools to establish long-term success without relapse into mental health disorder symptoms. Outpatient services provide you with accountability, safety, and a strong support network.

Recreational therapy is an approach to treatment that involves using social activities, excursions, and hobbies to address a client’s psychological and physical needs. It regularly includes physical activities like sports, dance, yoga, and tai chi as well as arts and crafts projects and community outings. By reducing stress and working on social skills, recreational therapy improves one’s overall well-being and lays the groundwork for long-term recovery.
Expressive therapy is one of several therapy programs that give clients new ways to express themselves. Delving into the arts helps clients to better express themselves by giving them a creative outlet, and it gives them a healthy means of working through difficult emotional issues.

As part of our treatment therapies, we will help you directly address any underlying trauma. Your individualized therapeutic plan will focus on identifying any trauma in your past to ensure that it does not threaten your long-term recovery or result in relapse down the line.
Motivational interviewing is an evidence-based therapeutic modality that encourages clients to examine how they can take steps towards positive change. This approach to therapy involves responding to a series of questions in an individual therapy session so that clients can focus on their strengths and figure out what motivates them to start making positive changes.
Mental health crises and addiction often cause family strain. In family therapy, we work with clients and their loved ones to heal these rifts as we establish healthy strategies for strengthening the family unit.
